Bonjour! I’m Laurence.
I’m the owner of a small in-home French immersion preschool in Santa Rosa, CA.
I am a French native, with extensive Early Childhood Development experience and credentials.
Le Marmouset welcomes 4-5 children, ages 18-48 months into a calm, nurturing environment, where learning and development occurs through play, nature, and authentic French immersion. If you are looking for an intimate alternative to large preschools, where your child is deeply known, loved, and supported to grow at their own pace, I’d love to connect with your family.
How Le Marmouset is different

It’s French immersion.
Growing up in Paris living in the apartment above my parents’ restaurant, I am able to offer a unique French cultural experience. I introduce language naturally through songs, stories, conversations, and daily life. Your child will hear authentic French all day, building fluency and literacy, delivered in an organic way that helps your child’s love of learning flourish.

It’s Nature and play-based.
Children spend time outdoors daily, exploring, creating, discovering. Learning isn’t about worksheets. It’s about real experiences: cooking together, building with blocks, digging in dirt, painting, pretending.

It’s Nutritious.
Your children will spend time outdoors in the garden, with an opportunity to plant, grow, harvest, and eat organic fruits and vegetables. I prepare fresh, nutritious meals served family-style (French cantine-inspired). Mealtime is part of the learning: we practice language, conversation, table manners and community togetherness.

It’s Collaborative.
Strong relationships with families are central. Communication, documentation, and developmental reflection are key components of the work. I will communicate regularly about your child’s growth, share photos, and welcome your questions. You will be part of a small community

It’s Small.
I work with only 4-5 children at a time. I get to know each child deeply, their interests, their developmental milestones, their mastery.
It’s led by an expert and based in best-practice.
I’ve completed 22 units of Early Childhood Development curriculum. I have created and supervised curriculum practicum at SRJC’s Children’s Center. I have worked in multilingual toddler and preschool classrooms alongside master teachers.
