Practicing Being Human is The work of Childhood

My program combines the California Preschool Curriculum Framework with the French École Maternelle Program to support the unique needs of bilingual children and their families.

I  follow the theory and framework of approaches that resonate deeply with my values as an educator:

  • The Freinet Method, which values autonomy, cooperation, and experiential learning

  • The Teaching Pyramid, which centers on positive relationships and social-emotional growth, and is the reference model for discipline in all California-funded early childhood programs

  • Friedrich Froebel’s vision, connecting children with nature as the foundation of kindergarten

I care for children holistically, meeting their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs through:

  • Safe, developmentally appropriate environments, with the learning space intentionally designed as a “Third Teacher” inspiring curiosity, independence, and exploration

  • Respectful discipline that encourages self-regulation and emotional awareness

  • Nutritious, homemade meals to support healthy growth and well-being

  • Meaningful, real-world activities like gardening and cooking, connecting learning to daily life
