French Immersion • Emergent STEAM • Nature-Based Exploration

At Le Marmouset, I don’t follow a pre-set calendar. Why? Because I believe that the most powerful learning happens when we follow a child’s natural wonder. Inspired by the “Think, Make, Try” philosophy, Le Marmouset summer camp is a dynamic environment where the curriculum emerges from the campers themselves.

The Laboratory of Life: Where Curiosity Leads the Way

Instead of “Theme Weeks,” I practice Responsive Education/Emergent curriculum based on Childrens’ interests.

Observation: As a trained multilingual educator, I observe what sparks joy. Is it the way water flows in the water table? A discussion about space? The physics of building a taller tower?

Investigation: I provide the tools: beakers, magnifying glasses, clay, and light tables to dive deeper into those specific interests.

Multilingual Immersion: French vocabulary is introduced naturally through these discoveries, making language learning an organic part of their “research.”

Every Day is a New Discovery!

The Artist: Sculpting, painting, and collaging to bring imaginary worlds to life.

The Scientist: Inspecting plants, concocting “potions,” and exploring light and shadow.

The Engineer: Drawing blueprints and testing prototypes in our outdoor studio.

The Naturalist: Daily trips to nearby parks to forage, observe plants and animals, and connect with the local ecosystem.
