About Me

Bonjour! I’m Laurence, a Paris-born, California-trained early childhood educator.
After more than a decade working in technology and product management, I shifted my career to early childhood education, motivated by both professional curiosity and lived experience as a mother of two.
My Training:
- 22 Units in Early Childhood Development from Santa Rosa Junior College
- California Associate Teacher Credential (Early Childhood Education)
- Curriculum Practicum (CHLD 66) — hands-on classroom experience at SRJC’s Children’s Center
- Worked as an educator in both the multilingual toddler classroom (18 months–3 years) and the Maple Room preschool (3–5 years)
- Trained alongside master teachers with decades of experience
- California Licensed Family Child Care Provider (LIC 493010857)
- Knowledgeable in California’s DRDP assessment framework and evidence-based ECE practices
My Background:
- Bachelor’s in Applied Linguistics (Sorbonne University, Paris)
- Master’s in International Business (Novencia Business School, Paris)
- Fluent in four languages: French (native), English, Italian, Spanish
- Over a decade of experience working across cultures and languages
Why I Created Le Marmouset:
I wanted to offer Santa Rosa families a truly intimate, high-quality French immersion experience, one that combines the warmth and rhythm of French educational traditions (calmness, real food, time outdoors) with California’s progressive, child-centered approach to learning and views the young child as a scientist.
When I’m not with the children, you’ll find me exploring nature with my own two kids, cooking, or writing and trying new food in beautiful Sonoma county.
